Recap of Our Operations Hub Webinar with Kyle Jepson

Recap of Our Operations Hub Webinar with Kyle Jepson
RevOps

HubSpot introduced their new Operations Hub, which would make it even easier to align marketing and sales through HubSpot. That’s big news! So we invited HubSpot’s Kyle Jepson to our webinar to explain why it’s a “hub” and how it can make our processes more efficient. We were all jaw-droppingly impressed. Here is what Kyle said. . .

Operations Hub’s 3 Key Features

The new Operations Hub offers 3 features. Each is great, but when you pair them, the sum is greater than the parts.

1. Data Sync

This is available in the free and starter version which makes it automatically available to existing HubSpot users, even without signing up for Operations Hub.

What does it do?

Data Synch provides faster, better integrations. Using technology acquired from PieSync, Data Sync is a two-way, real-time sync between HubSpot and external apps. It makes sure all the data is consistent across multiple platforms.

At the time of this webinar, Data Sync supports about 30 integrations, but the list will grow. The Free version gives you standard integrations of contact properties while the Starter version gives you custom field mappings. With the Pro version, you get a couple of additional upgrades to workflows.

2. Data Quality Automation

This is available in the Pro version.

What does it do?

Essentially, it cleans up data in clicks, not hours. It standardizes date fields, removes html tags, cleans up capitalization of text fields, etc.

One example: if you export your HubSpot data into Excel and use formulas to clean or standardize it, you don’t have to anymore. Use the format data action inside of workflows and get the data however you’d like it.

3. Programmable Automation

This is available in the Pro version and it is super-powerful.

What does it do?

If you can write javascript, Programmable Automation lets you create workflow actions for anything you want to do. You can run HTTP requests, data modeling, sequel queries, tap into the HubSpot API or any API for that matter. If you are savvy with coding, you can build your own apps or integrations inside of workflows. You are limited only by your imagination.

What makes this a hub?

When you pair these new features, the magic begins. Here are some possibilities:

If you pair Data Sync and Data Quality Automation, then you have Data Sync pulling data from your external app into HubSpot to clean it up and then send the cleaned data back to the external app. Think of HubSpot like a filter that not only gives you clean, consistent data in HubSpot, it cleans the data for your entire ecosystem of connected apps.

Did you get that? If somebody fills out a form and they have caps lock on, then every time you personalize an email to them by name, it will be in all caps. That will look unprofessional. Data Quality Automation corrects this across all your connected apps.

If you pair Data Quality Automation with Marketing Hub, you can standardize name capitalization before sending emails or format dates based on regional custom.

If you pair Programmable Automation and the Sales Hub, you can do a weighted lead rotation instead of divvying up leads between teams evenly. You can set expiration dates or renewal dates on your deals as they’re created.

If you pair Programmable Automation and Service Hub you can nuance the way you route and prioritize your tickets.

We are all very excited about this new hub. If you want to learn more or get started, head over to HubSpot’s Operations Hub page. If you need help understanding or implementing anything, drop us a line
