Two lists, one rate card, seven settings. That's everything you need to know about HubSpot credits after this week's release, and it fits on one page.
Context Home (all plans). Breeze Assistant (all plans, including Free). Marketing Studio (Marketing Hub Pro+). Deal Progression core functionality and default property updates (Sales/Service Pro+). AEO (Marketing Hub Pro+). Smart CRM enrichment. Agent Hub and Agent Builder itself (Professional and Enterprise).
Content Agent. Campaign Agent. Nurture Agent. Prospecting Agent. Revenue Agent. Customer Agent. Data Agent. Any custom agent built in Agent Builder, including Marketplace templates.
The principle HubSpot is applying: features you use are included; agents that do work for the team are metered. You pay when the work is done.
Content Agent: 1,000 credits to create one piece of content (about $10). Campaign Agent: 500 to recommend a plan for one campaign (about $5). Nurture Agent: 10 to personalise one email for one contact (about $0.10). Prospecting Agent: 100 to recommend outreach for one lead (about $1). Revenue Agent: 500 to start collection outreach on one invoice (about $5), charged at outreach start, not on payment. Customer Agent: 50 to resolve one conversation on text channels (about $0.50). Data Agent: 10 to answer one question or update one property on one record (about $0.10). Custom agents: 1 credit per action unit, an action unit being up to 2,000 tokens of input and output. Deal Progression: 0 for core; custom or methodology property updates route through Data Agent at 10.
Roughly a cent a credit at the approximate values HubSpot quotes. Most subscriptions include a credit allowance; beyond it you buy packs up front or turn on pay-as-you-go.
A worked example HubSpot uses: 1,000 overdue invoices, 30 large enough to chase. At 500 credits each, about $150 to work all 30. The maths only holds because someone decided which 30.
This is the part almost nobody configures before go-live, and it's the part that answers your CFO.
Portal and feature-level caps: a maximum monthly credit spend overall, or per feature; pause a single feature instantly. Billing mode: automatic upgrades or pay-as-you-go overage, your choice per portal. User permissions: control which users can consume credits; features require deliberate admin activation. Alerts: billing admins are notified at 75, 85 and 90 percent of the monthly limit. Automatic protection: hard ceilings and automatic pauses stop runaway spend. Agent-specific safeguards: custom agents support simulation mode (a cost estimate against production data that consumes nothing) and total credit caps per agent. Auditability: every action an agent takes is visible.
Model first. For each agent you plan to use, estimate monthly volume (pieces, emails, invoices, leads, runs) and multiply by the rate. For custom agents, run simulation mode.
Cap second. Set the feature-level limit at the modelled number plus a margin. Before the first run.
Share third. Put the forecast and the alert thresholds in front of finance before they ask.
Then go live, and compare actual to modelled at 30 days.
"Does Breeze Assistant use credits?" No. Asking Breeze a question is free on every plan. When you ask it to run an agent, that agent's work is metered at the agent's rate.
"Does Deal Progression use credits?" Core functionality and default property updates are included with the seat. A custom property or methodology property update routes through Data Agent at 10 credits. Everything else is free.
Run your numbers in the credits calculator on our pricing page; if the total surprises you, the settings above are the fix, and we're happy to help set them.
